Dr. Harrison Oake, ND

I'm Dr. Oake: Naturopathic Doctor, performance medicine expert, health junkie, healthy skeptic, aspiring chef, and hobby farmer.

My goal is to help you reach your goal(s), perform your best, and optimize your life.

Let's start with the Naturopathic Doctor part. I started my post-secondary education with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of Windsor and finished with a Doctor of Naturopathy degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. I am now licensed with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario. I use this degree to help people just like you feel your best and perform at your best.

I focus on performance medicine; helping you perform your best on the court, on the field, in the classroom, in the workplace, in the home, and in life.

I am also an athlete; I played 5 years of varsity volleyball, so I know the unique demands involved in this lifestyle. This is also where my curiosity in performance optimization began. My only regret from my competitive days is not having someone like present-me to help make the most of my hard work. I now look back and think of all the ways I could have made myself better on the court had I known what I know now.

This is why I do what I do: I want to help you avoid the mistakes I made, make the most of your hard work, and perform to your full potential. Remember, on the court or field, in the classroom, workplace, or at home; you can reach your full potential.

Where does what I do fit in with what you do? That depends on you: your individual needs and the demands of your day-to-day. We will work together using the most up-to-date information to help you make the jump from where you are, to where you want to be.

I'm a junkie, a health junkie. I love talking about any aspect of health or medicine with anyone who is inclined to indulge me. This is where my healthy skepticism comes in: I question everything, so you don't have to. I love challenging current thinking all while learning the latest and greatest in performance medicine.

So where does the aspiring chef and hobby farmer fit in. It doesn't really, I just love talking about both. My wife will attest that I am always trying something new in the kitchen (she sometimes gets tired of the house smelling like food). What excites me more than just cooking? Cooking with something that I grew; hence my obsession with my backyard garden and my self proclaimed hobby farmer title.

I've worked with people just like you. I would love to work with you.
